Help treat a hedgehog with ringworm - Virtual Gift

£15.00

A pawfect gift for anyone who loves their hair as much as hedgehogs do!
This gift gives a hedgehog back its identity!

Ringworm is a fungal infection which causes hair and prickle loss in a hedgehog. It's easily transmitted between hedgehogs and to us humans that care for them. We must double glove every time we handle a hog with ring worm and change our gloves in between treating every infected hedgehog. This means that a hedgehog with ring worm uses up a lot of resources. The medication currently used to treat the fungal infection is called Imaverol, which is applied topically on alternate days. To help prevent secondary bacterial infection we apply Vetericyn in between these medicated treatments. For severe cases, oral medication called Itrafungol or antibiotics may be required if there is any  sign of a secondary bacterial infection.  When you buy this gift, it will help treat one of the hedgehogs we are caring for.

Whats included:

Your virtual gift will be emailed to you after purchase and will include a certificate and fact sheet about how we treat hedgehogs with ringworm at Prickles and Paws.

Please note: this is a virtual gift only with a certificate that can be printed at home. No physical gift is posted.
